Memories & Candles
We are so sorry for the loss of Evelyn. We all had such a great time this past summer in Cragsmoor and are so glad we were able to spend time with her and all the Matz's for Chuck and Sally's 50th anniversary. We always talk about how much energy and fun the family has and hope your memories soften the loss. She was a lovely example of life well lived. You are in our prayers.

It has been a joy and blessing to have known Evie for these 33 years. She shared her love for so many things with her family. We enjoyed a trip to England together, riding the Orient Express and lunching at a castle. Marveling at the crown jewels. Trips out west to California, Yosemini and Mount Rushmore.
She directed our baking of hundreds of cookies at Christmas. After her fall and hip replacement it was a joy to take care of

Evelyn was always so supportive of everyone. She had a smile and a word of encouragement to me when I was president. She always would let me know that I had done a good job. She loved to come to the Alpha Chi meetings and was very faithful to our chapter.

That smile and chuckle like laughter will be missed. My life was very blessed to have had Harold as a brother and especially blessed that he choose Evie to be his life mate. Next October will not be the same without the birthday card from Evie that was always there over the past many years. Can Thanksgiving meals ever be the same without delicious stuffings made by Evie?

There are some people in our life that we can never repay for their kind and simple acts that shape our lives and create a lifetime of memories. Evie's energy to travel north every summer with her family to see her relatives left me with cherished childhood memories of fun and countless hours of card playing.
I will miss receiving a birthday card this February. For almost 60 years she nver missed sending a card with her loving hand-written letter.

My dear Mrs. Horning guided me through the second grade, lovingly, surely, at a time when my own mom was far away and I was scared. As said before, I think of her as sure and steady, kind, joyful, loving.
Suzanne and I will celebrate our love for her each day as we work side by side at our jobs. God bless your lovely family.

We are so profoundly grateful for the beautiful life of Evie. She made a lasting imprint on each of us with her positive outlook, her loving attention to her family, her obvious enjoyment of living, her constant stream of greeting cards, each one lovingly signed "Bless, Evie." And we ARE blessed, dearest Evie, that you touched us with your love.

We will leave words from a hymn that are well-suited for our dear sister and aunt.
O That Will Be Glory
When all my labors and trials are o'er,
And I am safe on that beautiful shore,
Just to be near the dear Lord I adore,
Will through the ages be glory for me.
When, by the gift of His infinite grace,
I am accorded in heaven a place,
Just to be there and to look on his face,
Will through the ages be glory for me.
Friends will be

Sandy, I am sure you will miss your mother terribly - I enjoyed meeting her at Christa's 31 party - what a dynamic lady. My sympathy & prayers are with you and your family.
