I am so very Thankful for my 3 older sisters!!! Donna, Becky, & Marie & Little brother Bo!!! My Mama was pregnant once again & my Daddy told me if it was a little girl, I would no longer be the "Baby girl" anymore...But if it was a boy, I would still be his "Baby girl!" God gave our Family a BOY! Little did I realize just how much I would Learn from each Sister & felt so much Joy to finally have a Brother!!! Thank you God for Your Blessings!!!

I was only about 2 or 3 and when he mowed grass he made me stay on the porch. One day when he was mowing grass he suddenly turned off the mower and pulled it to the steps. I ran down the steps to see what had happened. He flipped the mower over and took a screwdriver to scrape the grass from under the mower. As I was very interested in what he was doing I didn't quite understand. So I asked. "Daddy, what are you doing with that "stew-biber"? My Mom and Dad got a chuckle out of my mischief and mis-pronunciation of the the word screwdriver. This was just one of the stories they held in their memory of Cute Things their children said... I love you Daddy and miss your sweet smile!

My daddy was known for his kindness to others. The only time he could say no was if it went against God's word. He believed in working hard for what you got & was willing to do whatever it took to make his way. Daddy taught me to be a giver not a taker and when life gets tough to hang in there cause it can't stay that way forever. He believed in God first, family next & whatever after

You could see Jesus in daddy's tear filled eyes when he talked about the scriptures. One could tell he had an intimate relationship with Jesus when he spoke about his Savior. He had a strong desire to worship & attend church in honor the ONE who died for him. I am proud to say that I am the oldest daughter of Don Deaton Sr & I know without a doubt I'm going to walk on streets of gold with him one day. His legacy will live on in me until we meet again. My desire is to make my daddy proud & my heavenly Father even prouder. Daddy will be greatly missed by his family & loved ones.

My thoughts have been with my Aunt Hattie and my cousins off and on these last few days (especially today), and I want you to know how much we all really genuinely loved Uncle Don. Mona, Bob and I.. We've all reminisced and talked about what fun he was to be around. And I know he was a very good man. I

My thoughts have been with my Aunt Hattie and my cousins off and on these last few days (especially today), and I want you to know how much we all really genuinely loved Uncle Don. Mona, Bob and I.. We've all reminisced and talked about what fun he was to be around. And I know he was a very good man. I remember being a little bit wistful back in my teens.. wondering why I didn't have a great Dad like the Deaton kids had. Back then I remember thinking Aunt Hattie and Uncle Don were the young and "cool" aunt and uncle. I also remember when I first came there from NY (in the 70's)how I really had to listen hard and think about what Uncle Don said because out of all my southern family, I found his accent the strongest. Haha.. Eventually though, I got the hang of understanding him and that ol' draaaawl of his. After that, he never failed to make me laugh whenever we'd talk. I often think of those days back when we were ALL so much younger. Uncle Don will live on in our hearts here on Earth even as his spirit resides in Heaven above. Bless his soul, Lord.
