Gary - John and I, and our family are so sorry to hear of Diana's passing - I knew that she was ill but I had no idea how quickly her health was deteriorating. I have known Diana since I was a little girl in Amarillo and she was always a mentor of style and grace for me, and when y'all moved to Austin, we became friends. She fought a long, hard battle with beautiful grace and strong, southern dignity.

Diana is someone I have known my entire life, and I wanted to express my sincere condolences at her passing. Her mother was my father's secretary for a while when I was very young and we had lots of contact through church, etc.
She was always a beauty and impeccably attired - I believe the last time I saw here was in the late '70s when I visited Childress and attended a football game.
You all will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Gary, I'm so sorry for your loss. I worked with Dian's mother, Alice, when I lived in Childress in 1966 and 1967. During this time I got to know Dian and found her to be one of the most caring and wonderful person I've ever known. I lost my wife four years ago, so I can relate to your loss.

You and your family are in my prayers.

Is Alice still living? If so could you let me know, when you find the time, how I could contact her?

Although my relationship with Diana was short, she left a lasting impression on me. Such a kind and gracious woman with a beautiful smile. I will miss that smile that she shared with all that knew her. May her family find comfort to know that she is in a better place, and may the beautiful memories of her be with you always.

What a privilege it was to know Diana. She was the personification of being a lady. Those of us who knew her will feel her absence for a long time. She always lit up a room and was such a wonderful addition to the No Pressure Book Club.
Know that so many have the Compton family in our thoughts and prayers.

Diana was such a beautiful lovely lady that was a special part of our book club. She was generous kind and such a delight to have a conversation with. Her eyes were intent on you as if you were the only one in the room. She will be dearly missed. Our prayers are with you.
