"I didn't know uncle Roy as well as I wish I had, but I do remember him very fondly. I wish I had known him better. I am glad to think that he is finally living in unmitigated joy with our Lord.
Blessings on all of the rest of the family."

"I knew Roy for many years and worked with him at National Vinegar. He was a hard worker, proud of his family and looked forward to retiring back home in Kentucky. I am glad to see that he was able to enjoy many years of what looks like a happy retirement. Having been gone from Alton for 20+ years, I still look at the Telegraph to see who may have passed on. My sincere sympathy to his family for their loss. Roy was a "good guy" and I'm sure will be missed by many."

"Uncle Roy will be missed...Such a wonderful man. I always loved listening to his stories of when he worked at the vinegar factory :) walking in his garden with him as he would show us his watermelons and would share them with all the family... I will cherish the time I got to spend with him and the wonderful memories... May he rest in the arms of the Lord..."

"Carolyn, Nita and family, i am so sorry to hear of your dads passing. He was such a plesant man, always a smile and kind words. He would stop by our shop and visit for a while when we were not busy and always a joy to talk to. I know he will be greatly missed. Our thought and prayers are with you."
