Tribute & Message From The Family

Bruce Ridinger, 75 of Tualatin, passed away Tuesday, October 30 at the Avamere Rehab of King City. Bruce was born in Contra Costa, California to William Ray and Winnie Fern (Boyd) Ridinger. He graduated from Albany Union High School and went to OSU on a football scholarship where he decided to leave early to join the Navy. After serving in the Navy, Bruce joined the Albany Police Department and spent several years in law enforcement in the Mid Valley. He later left police work and worked in sales of manufactured housing, automobiles, and real estate. Upon retirement, Bruce lived in Eugene on his 7 acres and – as an absolute sports fanatic - became a huge Oregon Duck fan. Most recently he was living in Aurora to be closer to his son's family. Bruce is survived by his wife, Judy Ridinger of Eugene; son, Scott Ridinger and wife Carolyn of Tualatin; step children, Rick Ruaro of Ketchikan, Alaska, Randy Ruaro of Juneau, Alaska, and Lisa Brickman of Cle Elum, Washington; sister, Margaret Thornton; grandchildren, Jeff and Paige Ridinger, Jordan and Derick Brickman, Colten Sowa, Jodi, Erik, and Dylan Ruaro; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Doug Ridinger. At Bruce's request no services are planned.

Condolence & Memory Journal

I sent Bruce a card after Doug's passing in 2007. He sent me the nicest letter in response. He wanted to call me, then to see me,once we finally made phone connections. I never heard from him again after July of 2007. Then, 5 years later, he started coming to mind. I wondered what might have happened to him as I would have enjoyed seeing him. I'm very sorry I never called the number I found in my book, though it probably was no longer valid.

It was a very sad day to learn of his passing.
My deepest condolences to the family.

I met Judy and Bruce in Ketchikan, Alaska when I worked with Judy at Ketchikan Public Utilities. I have many fond memories of Judy and Bruce. My condolences to the family.

It is a very sad day indeed. I have many wonderful memories that I think about often. He and Doug are probably wagering some bet (and throwing some clubs!) on the highest golf course in creation right now! My deepest sympathies to you Judy, Scott, Carolyn and family. Much love. ~Ann

Dear family of Bruce Ridinger, It was sad for me to read about Bruce's passing. I have many fond memories of high school days and playing football with him for Albany High. He was one of the very best. With much Aloha, Don Reeser, Albany H.S. class of 1956
