Carolyn Esther Wynn Cavaroc died peacefully on January 7, 2018 surrounded by loving family. She was born in Utica, New York on February 28, 1943. She received her B.S. degree in Geology from the University of Rochester and her M.S. degree in Micropaleontology from Louisiana State University.

Carolyn is predeceased by her devoted husband of 49 years Victor Viosca Cavaroc, Jr., her mother, Dorothea Reynolds Wynn and her father, George A. Wynn. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Evelyn Claire Cavaroc of Garner, NC, Jane Anne Cavaroc Brenden (John) of Ocean Springs, MS and Marie Louise Cavaroc of Springfield, OR; brother-in-law, John Peter Cavaroc (Lucie) of New Orleans, LA; and many nieces, grand-nieces, nephews, grand-nephews and friends.

She accompanied her husband as he traveled and studied sedimentary rocks in North America, Argentina and Morocco. She was a concert violinist who performed with the Raleigh North Carolina Symphony Orchestra and loved music and the arts.

A visitation will be held Friday, January 12, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., with the Funeral Service beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 Saint Mary Street, Raleigh. Burial will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery, 701 Oakwood Avenue, Raleigh. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Victor V. Cavaroc Scholarship Fund.
