Essie Blanch Jarrett Reinhardt, age 105, passed away May 14, 2017 at Homeplace of Burlington, NC. Essie lived in Catawba County for over 100 years, living in only two homes. She moved to Burlington, NC so that her daughter, Brenda, could be of greater help. Essie worked for over 40 years at Newton Glove Company, then as care-giver for many years with folks older than she who were incapable of living alone. Essie attended Beth-Eden Lutheran Church in Newton for 55 years, and moved her membership back to her family congregation of Grace Lutheran Church in Newton, NC. She volunteered with Senior Morning Out for over 30 years, helping wherever needed. Quilting and gardening were her hobbies. She made many quilts for her children and their families.

Essie was the daughter of the late George T. and Bessie Scronce Jarrett and wife of the late Roy E. Reinhardt. Also preceding her in death were her eight siblings and their spouses, Roy (Annie) Jarrett, Charlie (Dare) Jarrett, Clyde (Geneva) Jarrett Sr., Della ("Joe") Leatherman, Lander (Mable) Jarrett, George (Mozelle) Jarrett, Mary (Ralph) Johnson and Howard (Jo) Jarrett.

Essie is survived by two children, Ned Reinhardt (Ruth) of Maryville, TN and Brenda R. Hill (Steve) of Burlington, NC; five grandchildren, Christy Boggan (John) of Madison, MS, Neal Reinhardt (Jeana) of Maryville, TN, Lowell Hill (Janet) of Graham, NC, Tonya Davis of Burlington, NC, Tyra Ray (Gary) of Burlington, NC; one step-grandson, Stephen "Roger" Hill Matern of Germany; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous (Jarrett) nieces and nephews and (Reinhardt); two sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Grace Lutheran Church. A Service of Remembrance will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. J. George Gilbert officiating.

Pallbearers will be Neal Reinhardt, Lowell Hill, Gary Ray, Jacob Ray, Dylan Crusan, Carson Reinhardt and Camden Hill.

Essie's family would like to thank Homeplace of Burlington for their love, help and support for the almost five years that their mother was a resident.
