Mr. Harvey Everett Strickland, age 73, of 11544 Dunn Rd., Dunn died Saturday Evening, March 18, 2017 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield. Mr. Strickland was born in Harnett County on January 15, 1944 the son of the late Joseph “Jody” Everett Strickland. Harvey was a U.S. Army Veteran Serving from 1966 – 1968 during the Vietnam Era.Harvey was the owner and operator of Mid Atlantic Power and Equipment Co. since 1987. He was a member of Stoney Run Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, the American Legion Post 59 in Dunn and a member of the Erwin Masonic Lodge in Erwin. Harvey was a devoted family man and loved his Wife, Children and Grandchildren very much as well as his church family. He was a well-respected businessman and everyone who knew him liked him. He was an avid hunter. A Celebration of Harvey’s Life will be Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Stoney Run Family Life Center with the Rev. Rick Kelly, Rev Murray King & Rev. Johnny Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Surviving include: His wife of 52 Years: Judy Hodges Strickland of the home. His mother: Evelyn Glover Strickland of Dunn, NC; Daughter: Melissa Strickland O’Neal & (husband) Adrian of Mt. Olive, NC; Sons: Eric Todd Strickland & (wife) Ranae of Dunn, NC and C. Chad Strickland & (wife) Lauren of Lillington, NC; A Brother: Jerry W. Strickland & (wife) Sheila of Dunn, NC; Grandchildren: Lauren O’Neal, Alex O’Neal, Carrington Strickland, Brenna Strickland, Ethan Strickland, Jody Strickland, Callie Strickland & Leah Strickland. The Family will receive friends Tuesday Evening, March 21, 2017 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home in Dunn and at other times at the home.
