Alma Johnson Watson, age 87 went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 17, 2013. She was the daughter of Willis and Rosa Johnson. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Linwood Watson. Alma was an avid Duke fan. Mama loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and sewing for her family. She loved Christ and wanted her family and others to know Him also. Her family would like to say a special "Thank You" to the staff at Parkwood Assisted Living and Community Hospice for the loving care they showed her.
She is survived by her sons, Willis Watson and wife Carolyn of Virginia Beach, VA., Shelton Watson and wife Judy of Gibsonville; daughters, Sandra Bowling and husband Sam of Rocky Mount, Frances Dilda and husband Ronnie of Wilson; sister, Ruby Langston of Fremont; grandchildren, Allison Williams, Richard Watson, Katie Watson, William Watson, Sam Bowling, John Bowling, Rhonda Dilda, Jim Dilda; fourteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6:00 ~ 8:00 PM Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Saint Mary's FWB Church, 8456 Saint Mary's Church Road Kenly, with Rev. David Kriger officiating, burial to follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. At other times the family will be at the home of Sandra Bowling 6486 Southgate Rd. Rocky Mount.
