On November 19, 2009, Arthur H. Marthens, Jr. of Annapolis, died at Washington Hospital Center. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Marla J. Marthens; sons Kirk P. Marthens of Arnold, MD and David D. Marthens of Purcellville, VA; step-daughters Karen E. Lord of Ellicott City, MD, Laura J. Mollard of Potomac, MD and Joyce A. Fortune of Mountain View, CA. He is also survived by six grandchildren, and he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathe R. Freear. The family will be receiving guests at their residence at 751 Bon Haven Drive, Annapolis, MD 21401 on Sunday, November 22 from 4-7 PM and Monday, November 23 from 11-3 PM. Graveside services will be held at the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, November 24 at 10:00 AM, with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 171 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation, 2001 Medical Parkway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
