GARNER: Calbert Ervin Allen, age 73, died Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Wake Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 13, 2013 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton with Reverend Michael Hoyle officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park with military honors.
He was a native of Johnston County and the son of the late Donnie Gaston Allen and Ester A. Allen. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clifton Allen; a sister, Mavis Arsenault and his first wife, Nancy Allen.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Ferguson Allen; children, Dorie Clickovich and husband Mark, Peggy Allen, Theresa Hoyle and husband Michael, Linda Searight, Debra Magallanes, Wendy Hakem and husband Saboor, Rodney Pearce, Sharon Tyner and husband Craig; brothers, Willie Allen and Donnie Allen; sisters, Merle Lee, Maverine Hardee and Margaret Lloyd; nineteen grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at the funeral home, prior to the service.
