Clarence E. "Dude" Morris, Sr. Cox Funeral Home Bastrop, Louisiana BASTROP, LA. Funeral services for Mr. Clarence E. "Dude" Morris, Sr. will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop with the Reverend Bruce Hankins officiating. Interment will follow at the Bonita Road Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. Clarence Eugene Morris was born November 10, 1930 at Jones, Louisiana and he passed away January 18, 2013 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, Louisiana. Mr. Morris is preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Shane Morris; his parents, Barbara Mosely Kinnaird and Mack Lee Kinnaird; sister, Dorothy Sue Brantley; and a daughter-in-law, Judy D. Morris. Mr. Morris was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Bastrop and a retired pulp mill operator with 38 years of service at International Paper Company. "Dude" was a outdoorsman and loved all animals. He was an avid beekeeper and a "Jack of all Trades". He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rose Marie Morris of Bastrop; four children, Clarence "Eugene" Morris, Jr. and his wife, Debbie of Farmerville, Louisiana, Kathy Uptigrove and her husband, Ronald, Jody Straughn and her husband, Jimmy, and Mark Morris and his wife, Vickie, all of Bastrop; two brothers, Jerry Lynn Kinnaird and his wife, Linda of McGhee, Arkansas, Calvin Wayne Kinnaird and his wife, Linda of Hamburg, Arkansas; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons Jeremy Uptigrove, Shane Morris, Nathen Morris, Korey Morris, Bill Stephens, Matt Carson, Danny Boatright, and Kenn Dickey. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 19th, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. For those who wish the family suggest memorials be made to the Antioch Baptist Church of Bastrop, Louisiana.
