Mr. Dewey Brown, Jr., age 88 of Benton, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at his home in Benton, Kentucky.

Born Monday, April 14, 1924 in Fulton, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Dewey Brown, Sr., and the late Doris (Cruise) Brown. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Juanita Lucille (Abel) Brown.

He was retired from Inland Steel Mill in Chicago. He served as a Pharmacist Mate Second Class in the United States Navy from 1942 until 1947 in the Atlantic Fleet. He was a Veteran of World War II.

Surviving are one son, Marvin J. Brown of Portage, IN, two daughters, Elizabeth Stivers of Benton, KY and Cynthia Niloff of Benton, KY, sisters, Kathleen Wood of Portage, IN and Joan Moon of Sacramento, CA; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, two sisters, Joyce Braden and Norma Ambler.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 1, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, Kentucky. Dr. J.T. Parish will officiate. Inurnment will follow at a later date.

Friends may visit with the family after 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 3:00 p.m. at the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the William A. Doyle American Legion Post 236, P.O. Box 305, Calvert City, KY 42029.
