Fleming Aubrey Buck, Sr., 92, passed away peacefully at his home on February 23, 2013. He had been a resident of Williamsburg for over 64 years. He was born in Richmond, VA on March 19, 1920 to Aubrey Fleming and Rosa Belle Buck.
He was a veteran of World War II and a businessman in Lee Hall where he owned and operated Fleming's Market with his wife, Viola for over 20 years. He was a long-time member of the William & Mary Quarterback Club. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Viola M. Buck. He is survived by five children, Joanna Trentham and her husband, Jimmy; Fleming A. Buck, Jr. and his wife, Lois; Greg Buck and his wife, Diane and her daughter Stephanie; Michael Buck and his wife, Shirley; and David Buck and his wife, Amy. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Debbie Stewart; Patti Deyerle; Jennifer Buck Engles and her husband Dirk and his children, Brittany and Brooke; Jason Buck; Marshall Buck and his wife, Cindy; Joshua and Jonathan Buck; Aubrey and Emily Buck; and nine great-grandchildren, Ryan, Scott and Haley Stewart; Branden Deyerle and his wife, Audrey; Andrew Lee; Samantha Buck; Grace Buck; Tori and Mackenzie Rice.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Janemarie, Cynthia, Judy and Adam from Sentara Home Care and Hospice.
The family will receive friends Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg. Graveside services will be held at Williamsburg Memorial Park, 130 King William Dr., Williamsburg at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 1.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to William & Mary Quarterback Club, P.O. Box 399, Williamsburg, VA 23187 or to your charity of choice.
