Mr. Harold M. Blankenship, simply known as "Pickles", age 73, of Hillview returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 24, 2013. Mr. Blankenship was a retired driver for Pepsi after 28 years of service. He always made everyone laugh and smile by whistling, singing and winning the hearts of all he worked with and the customers he delivered to. Among those that preceded him in death include his parents, William and Minta Blankenship; and brothers, Jimmy and Artie "Odie" Blankenship. He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Bill Blankenship; daughters, Leslie Mann and Cindy O'Dell (Patrick); grandchildren, Jordan and Lindsay Blankenship; brothers, Arnold (Charlene), Walter, Sr. (Rebecca) and Eugene (Sissy) Blankenship; nieces, Gail Duff, Susan Ogle, Robin Gibson, Charlotte Chandler, Martha Blankenship, Tammy Black, Kathy Jo Henon and Sandy Tompkins; and nephews, Walter, Jr., Chris and Timothy Blankenship.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 1-8 pm and Thursday from 10 am until time of service at Schoppenhorst. Family video on
