James Robert Thomason, Jr.
Greenville, SC

James Robert Thomason, Jr. (Jimbo), 61, formerly of East Parkins Mill Road died February 5, 2013.

Born in Greenville he was a son of Ruth McKeithan Thomason and the late Dr. James Robert Thomason.

A graduate of Vanderbilt University he was associated with investment and brokerage firms in Greenville for over 35 years. For many years he participated in historic sports car racing in the S.E. and in 2005, he raced in The 24 Hours of Daytona.

He was a member of the Poinsett Club, The Cotillion and Past President of the Green Valley Country Club.

He is survived by his wife Elaine Goodwin Thomason; a daughter, Lindsay McKeithan Thomason and a son James Robert Thomason, III (Jay); a sister, Mrs. Earle Russell (Sally); two brothers, Dr. Mack Thomason and wife Cheree and Dr. Mike Thomason and wife Holly all of Greenville; eight nieces and nephews, Bo Russell, Katherine Selvy, Rob Russell, McKee Thomason, Katie Thomason, Chas Thomason, Brooke Thomason and Justin Thomason.

Funeral services will be Friday February 8, 2013 at 3pm at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Richard Gibbons and Dr. Pamela Patrick Cole officiating.

The family will receive friends Friday from 1pm until 2:45 in the parlor at the church.

The family is at the home of his sister, Sally Russell, 26 Rock Creek Drive, Greenville.
