Janie Boyce passed away on January 17, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, both parents, 8 siblings and two grandchildren.

Janie Louise Parsley was born in Springdale, AR as the seventh child of thirteen to Toots and Eugene Parsley on April 17, 1945, however lived in the Sacramento, CA area until she married Eugene Boyce in 1962. She stayed at home to raise their children while Eugene served a tour of duty with the US Navy. After discharging from the Navy, Janie and Eugene moved to Bald Knob, AR where Eugene had lived before joining the service. They lived in Bald Knob, with a few exceptions, for the next 45 years, celebrating their 50 anniversary this last year at Bald Knob's Downtown Courtyard. Janie was the mother to five children, Tammy (John) Melton of Norris City, IL, Rocky (Margaret) Boyce of Bald Knob, AR, Leah (Ronnie) Jones of Judsonia, AR, Dallas (Diane) Boyce of Bald Knob, AR and Jesse (Lara) Boyce of Beebe, AR.

Janie loved her 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren with all her heart, spending time "drinking coffee" with her grandsons and cooking big meals with her granddaughters. She was always planning her next big project, most of the time before the current one was completed. In life, Janie has enjoyed different simple hobbies like gardening, crocheting, traveling with her husband, visiting family in CA, AZ, KS and FL, and drawing house plans.

Of her many careers, she was a cook, small business owner, nurse aide for the elderly, farmer and most recently a cross country truck driver. Janie was an active member of Lone Star Missionary Baptist Church, and the Women's Association of the Missionary Baptist Churches. She left her legacy in everything she touched by her kindness, empathy and compassion for every person and every situation that a person may find themselves in. Although Janie has left this world to reunite with her husband in Heaven, her spirit will live on through all of us that shared a part of her life.
