John Lawrence Sullivan, Sr., 88, passed away Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
John was born in Santa Rosa County, Florida on November 13, 1924 to the late Charles Jones Sullivan and Ella Mae Wiggins Sullivan. He was a retired draftsman. John was a member of First Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
John is survived by his wife, Dorothy Marie Stallings Sullivan; his son, John L. Sullivan, Jr. and wife, Sara of LaGrange; his daughters, Linda Love and husband, Chuck of Charlotte and Carolyn Sullivan of Goldsboro and his brother, Lee D. Sullivan of Andalusia, Alabama. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Eva Almeida and husband, Alejandro of Charlotte, Lee Love and wife, Jennifer of Charlotte, Stacey Casey and husband, William of Seven Springs and Ashley Sullivan of LaGrange and his great grandson, Cameron Casey.
Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Wayne County Services On Aging, 2001 E. Ash Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530 or Cures for the Colors, 203 Cox Blvd., Goldsboro, NC 27534.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
