Jon Piersma, was a loving husband and father, who loved riding his Harley Davidson bike, playing around on his computer, and photography. Jon and Judy, his wife of 27 years, were residents of Rochester Hills, MI, for the past 21 years. Jon died on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Jon was 59 years old. Jon was born in Detroit, Michigan, on August 16, 1953, to Anne and the late Gordon Piersma. Raised in Hudsonville, Michigan, he graduated from Unity High School in Hudsonville and then attended Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, where he received his Bachelor's degree. Later, he attained his Masters of Business Adminstration degree from Phoenix University. His career with General Motors as a Material Savings Engineer spanned 33 years. Along with his wife Judy, Jon is survived by his loving children Tracy and Tyler (Gabriela). He is the son of Anne and the late Gordon Piersma; brother of Gretchen Knoper (Randy), Durk (Kathy), David (Roda) and Jeff (Deb); son-in-law of Chester and Irene Dziesinski and brother-in-law of Alan Dziesinski (Sandy) and Ken Dziesinski (Joanna). Family will receive friends Thursday, February 14, 2013, from 5 to 8PM at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Road, Troy (between Maple and Big Beaver). Memorial tributes can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
