Joseph Keith Failor, 49, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 at Veterans Medical Center in Des Moines. Joe was born May 19, 1963 to Bill and Barbara Failor in Cedar Rapids, IA.
A committal service will be held 2:30 p.m., Friday, February 8, 2013, at Ankeny Memorial Gardens, in Ankeny, IA with burial to follow.
Joe graduated from Ankeny High School in 1982. He had been an Ankeny volunteer fireman, and served in the US Air Force for 4 years, then the Reserves and the Air National Guard. He also had been on the Fire Dept. at the D.M. airport and worked in security for Firestone and Fisher Controls.
Joe is survived by his parents, Bill and Barbara Failor of Ankeny (formerly of Marion, IA),daughter, Erin Nicole Failor and her mother, of Altoona, IA, Cathy Failor of Altoona, a sister, Sherry Alice Failor of Ankeny, a brother William W. Failor and nephew Jared, of Hudson, IA, Aunts and Uncles, and his beloved black cat Cretin.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harriet and Earnie Failor, and Archie and Lucille Beatty.
Memorials will go to the Veterans Assisted Living or Hospice for their wonderful care of cancer patients.
