Lucille Cassidy, 81, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Glenn Rosenbaum officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home or the Benton Harbor Public Library. Those wishing to share a memory of Lucille online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.

Lucille was born June 9, 1931 in St. Joseph, MI to Walter & Bessie (Saltzgiver) Owca. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1949. Lucille worked for the Benton Harbor Public Library as a Librarian for 46 years. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, caring for animals, and watching golf. She will be remembered by her family and all who knew her for her unstoppable optimism and the love that she shared with her family and friends.

Lucille is survived by her daughter LuAnn (William) Mashke of St. Joseph, son Paul (Mary) Sila of Goleta, CA and daughter Lori (Todd) Trickett of Berrien Springs; grandchildren Phillip Mashke, Julianne (Matt) Mast, Evan, Tyler, and Halie Sila, Chelsea and Stephanie Hummel. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents and brother Donald Owca.
