Marci Nozick Santiago, age 47, passed away on February 22, 2013, after a short but very brave battle with ovarian cancer. Our beautiful, generous, fun-loving girl touched so many lives, from her Bling Bunco Girls to the thousands of families who participated in Neighborhood Sports, the non-profit youth league she and her husband Hector Santiago helped build together. In addition, Marci was a loving mother, mentor and provider to many of her children's friends.
Those left to celebrate her life include her amazing husband Hector, to whom she was married for 25 years; her talented daughter Taryn Stilwell, husband Evan and their beautiful son Maddox; her loving son Zach and girlfriend Delaney; her beloved parents Betsy and Robert Nozick; and her devoted sister Robin Krumme and husband Gregg. Marci also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family wishes to thank Cassie Gossett, RN for her unwavering compassion and Marci's cousin Melyssa Nozick, who so lovingly and selflessly cared for Marci in her final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Marci's memory be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition Austin, PO Box 170147, Austin, Texas 78717.
A celebration of Marci's life will be held at Casa Blanca on Brushy Creek, 2211 Hairy Man Road in Round Rock on Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. If you plan to attend, please write a story about Marci for her memory book. Otherwise, celebrate Marci's life as she would. Eat some sushi, see a movie and laugh.
