Marie D. Maladecki, age 83 of Clinton Township, died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan.

She was born on August 11, 1929 in Olean, New York, daughter of the late George and the late Mary (nee: Kujawa) Soulsby.

Along with being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Marie was most proud of her longstanding tenure as an assembly line worker for the Chrysler Corporation where she extended the utmost in dedicated and loyal service, for over 32 years, until her retirement. In the years following their retirement, Marie and Robert made the decision to escape the concrete jungle for the beauty and serenity of Michigan's north country and made their new home in St. Helen. Living up north provided them a whole new world of peace and relaxation that they enjoyed immensely,...of course, until it was time for winter. For those months, they found great delight in soaking up the sunshine at their second home in Mesa, Arizona. They were truly livin' large. Following Robert's death 8 years ago, Marie moved back to the Macomb county area and settled in her new home at the Heritage Estates in Clinton Township where she made many dear and wonderful friends over the past 8 years.

As far as pastimes go, Marie loved watching sports,...especially anything having to do with her loyalty to the Detroit and Michigan teams. But without question, the pastime she was most passionate about was found in her enjoyment at the casino. She loved to give Ol' Lady Luck a run for her money by exercising the arms of those one-armed bandits. The slot machines and the gaming aura of the casino was always a welcomed getaway and source of entertainment for Marie.

Yet of all the things that meant the most to Marie, nothing else could match the love she possessed for her family,...especially that for her children and grandchildren. They'll always remember the doting and care that poured from her heart, but the most outstanding quality will forever remain her unique and infectious sense of humor. Marie possessed a hearty laugh that filled the room with joy, and she loved to bring others along for the ride. She truly embodied the three L's,...Love, Laughter & Life,...and the "life" she brought to the lives of others left an impact that will never be forgotten. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally.

Marie was the beloved wife of the late Robert. Dear mother of Bob (Margaret) Maladecki, Sharon (Ray) Piotrowski, and the late Ronald. Loving grandmother of five and great-grandmother of five.

Visitation for Marie will be held on Sunday, February 17th from 3-8pm, with a 7pm Scripture Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. She will lie in state on Monday from 9AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 9:30AM at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 31555 Hoover Road in Warren.

At a future date to be determined, Marie's ashes will join those of her husband's as the two will be inurned, together, at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.

Please share memories of Marie at her memory book.
