Mary Virginia Revils Bennett, 82, of Baytown, passed away on February 2, 2013, at a local nursing home. She was born May 27, 1930, in Jacksonville Arkansas, to Lonnie Revils and Lucille Marr. As a child, Mrs. Bennett lived in an orphanage for a period of time. She married at the age of sixteen. For over twenty years, Mrs. Bennett owned and operated the House of Gemini Hair Styling Salon. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church before the church merged with Cedar Bayou United Methodist Church. An avid bowler, Mrs. Bennett was a member of several bowling leagues.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband; children, James Bennett and Curtis Bennett; grandchild, Keith Bennett; siblings, Mabel Goodnight, Kenneth Revils, Carl Revils, Charlie Revils, Margie Cain and Ernie Revils; Mrs. Bennett is survived by her children, Gene Bennett and wife, Ruth, Steve Bennett, Larry Bennett, Sandra Magill and husband, Keith and Carolyn Zlomke; grandchildren, Anne Dickens and husband, Durrell, Eddie Bennett, Steven Bennett, Jr. and wife, Rhonda, Beverly Camp and husband, Ed, Larry Bennett, Jr. and wife, Liz, Brandi Sawyer and husband, Aaron, Azizi Foreman, T. K. Magill, Jr. and wife, Tiffany, Amanda Tharp and husband, Jeremy, Abbe Zlomke, Becky Zlomke and Trey Zlomke; twenty-two great grandchildren; sibling, Patti Howle and husband, Howard; and many other loving friends and family members.
There were also several special people that were a part of her life that she loved greatly, including Debbie Martin and Leon Childress. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., with a reception, at Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Crespo & Jirrels, with Pastor Bill Yowell of First Baptist Church officiating.
