Nora H. Anderson
February 3, 1918 - February 14, 2013
La Grange-Nora Anne Hill Anderson, 95, of La Grange, peacefully passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013. Nora was born February 3, 1918 in Wayne County to the late Jacob Freeze Hill, II and Cindy Arilla Newsome Hill. Nora was a long-time member of Beston United Methodist Church where she attended faithfully as long as she was physically able. She enjoyed working in her yard, reading, cooking and crocheting in her earlier years.
A service of remembrance will be held Friday, February 15, 2013 at 6 p.m. from Rouse Funeral Home with Rev. Sherman Guthrie officiating. A private family committal service will be held at Fairview Cemetery.
Nora was a much beloved wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma and great-great grandma. She was preceded in death by her husband of seventy years, James Prentice Anderson; daughter, Rachel Anderson Tingen; and a son-in-law, James Tingen. Mrs. Anderson is survived by two children, J.P. Anderson, Jr. and wife, Gloria of La Grange and Danny Anderson and wife, Esther of La Grange; four grandchildren, Jimmy Tingen and wife, Ashley, Penny Lewis and husband, Jim, Amy Faulkner, Scott Anderson and wife, Nichole; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister, Virginia Hill Benton; along with a number of nieces and nephews. Nora was also preceded in death by a brother, Simon B. Hill.
The family will receive friends Friday following the service of remembrance and at other times they will be at the home. Meyer, Goldsboro Pain Medicine, Carolina Nephrology, Willow Creek Nursing & Rehabilitation, Kitty Askins Hospice Center and their staff for their outstanding care and support.
