Reuben Clyde Kristianson, 73, of Nauvoo, Illinois, passed away at 8:09 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines, Iowa.

Born April 3, 1939 in Ogden, Iowa the son of Oscar Reuben and Frances Evelyn (Hall) Kristianson. On August 22, 1964 he married Kathryn Ann Womack in Fort Madison, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife Kathryn of Nauvoo, Illinois, three daughters: Janice (Brad) Eggers of Ankeny, Iowa, Sherry (Mike) Welcher of Nauvoo, Illinois and Mickey Kristianson of Nauvoo, Illinois, one sister Helen (Jim) Ross of Waukee, Iowa, eighteen grandchildren: Kassia (Ryan) Qualley, Kayla Janic (Tyler Bock), Dustin Ranck (Shelby Huls), Bo Eggers, Cameron Patton, Katelynn Janic (Adam Hayes), Chase Eggers, Aerial Patton, Kaycee Brisby, Stevi Eggers, Ceyana Patton, Jeramey Marshall, Cody Marshall and Caden Welcher, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Reuben was a member of the Nauvoo United Methodist Church and formerly a member of the Fort Madison First Baptist Church. He was executive director of the Park Ridge Workshop (Lee County Activity Center) for forty eight years. Reuben enjoyed watching sports, playing sports with his grandchildren and spending time with his family.

Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Nauvoo United Methodist Church in Nauvoo, Illinois. Where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. that evening.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Nauvoo United Methodist Church with Pastor Randy Azbel officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to the University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center.
