Richard Edwin Suneson, age 98, formerly of Boyceville, WI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 at Spring Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Spring Valley, WI.
He was born April 4, 1914 to Anton and Hilda (Johnson) Suneson.
On Sept. 30, 1939 Richard married Harriet Hart. Together they farmed on their dairy farm north of Boyceville. After retiring they built a home in Boyceville where Richard and Harriet lived until Dec. 24, 2011. They currently made their home at Spring Valley Villas.
Richard loved to fish and watch the Packers. In his earlier years he and Harriet belonged to a 500 Card Club. He enjoyed playing Bingo at the Villas and sitting in the sun room. Richard also enjoyed traveling and in the winter he and his wife made their home in warmer climates.
Richard is survived by his wife of 73 years, Harriet; three daughters, Audrey Clarke of Oakdale, MN, Carla (David) Klingman of Knapp, WI and Sandra (Elgin) Van Anken of Bloomington, MN; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor Coutre of Ohio; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Edith Sterner and a brother Paul Suneson.
Richard was the oldest member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyceville where he was a life time member.
There will be visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie. A private service and burial will be at a later date.
