Ann, David, Rachel and I have lost a good and dear friend, with Bob's passing. You don't meet many people in your life who you know you will always remember with the fondness and joy with which we will remember Bob. As good neighbors, traveling companions, and movie and dinner friends we spent many joyous hours with Bob and Adona. While Bob is now not physically with us his presence will always be part of our lives. He has touched us and made our lives better and the Bennett family will always remember Bob Davis.

Every job, including fatherhood, is a self-portrait of the man who did it...therefore, autograph your life work with excellence. I know one of those portraits Bob painted and he hangs in the mighty stairwell of the home of my Mother. Precious in the sight of the LORD [is] the death of his saints. Psalms 116:15

I’ve known Mr. Davis for fifteen of the nineteen years of my life, and throughout it all he was an amazing, loving, and caring friend. Calling him a friend doesn’t even express how much he meant to me and my family. Both he and Mrs. Davis opened their home to us when we first moved to Raleigh, and over the years they have become like family. As I have grown up, he was always someone I could depend on for a friendly face or a good laugh. Mr. Davis often fondly reminisced about how when I was younger, I would yell out “Hi, Mr. Davis!” if I saw him in his driveway. He, as well as Mrs. Davis, has constantly been there for us, whether it was inviting us to Thanksgiving dinner, coming to my high school graduation, or never forgetting our birthdays by making us cards or personally coming by the house. I could not thank him enough for all that he has done. I will never forget his love for dogs and photography, as we always enjoyed looking at his most recent pictures or talking about Brandy and Baxter. He was truly a great person, and I will and already miss him so much. If there is anything I can do for you, Mrs. Davis, or any member of the Davis family, please let me know. My condolences to you all during this difficult time, and I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Robert and I shared time at IBM, that has moved us both on a mission with life. Robert's family has been in my life for over 20+ years.
I must say, Robert has moved on to a better place and I hope his family understands, Robert is in God's hands and we see him again!
Bob/Jim/Kevin/Susan/Mike, let's remember Robert has your father, whom is now in a better place.
My blessing are given to you and your family.

Mr. Davis was one of the kindest, sweetest and funniest men that I have ever had the privilege of meeting. When my family and I moved to Raleigh, we did not know many people in the area. The Davis' immediately welcomed us to the neighborhood with their friendship and caring nature. Mr. Davis always had a way of making my sister and me laugh with his jokes and stories. I will always remember and treasure our dinners at Ragazzis and each other's homes. I, along with the rest of my family, consider ourselves so blessed to have been neighbors and friends with such wonderful people as the Davis's. I will dearly miss Mr. Davis and our discussions that we both enjoyed so much about the Boy Scouts and our experiences in the organization. Mrs. Davis, if there is anything that I or my family can do for you or your family, please do not hesitate to ask. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives.

Dad was such a wonderful, sweet man and I will miss him dearly. When I came into the family almost 3 yrs. ago he opened up his home and most of all his heart to me. Dad knew I had lost both my parents and so he threw those big arms around me and told me he would be my dad if I needed him. I don't think he knew just how much that meant to me. I will always cherish his always kind words and acts of kindness he shown me. Dad I will miss you in my life.

We’ve lost a wonderful friend. I met Bob a short 8 years ago, would that it were longer. From the beginning, Bob’s exuberant spirit and robust sense of humor lifted me up. We served together on the Olde Raleigh Condominium Board of Directors. Bob and his wonderful wife Adona became our good friends. Friday night dinners together became the rule. The cruise through the Panama Canal together was a highlight. We would sit for hours and exchange stories about our time at IBM. His store house of jokes, some good and some awful were endless. Dorothy and I will miss Bob.
