Mr. Robert Lorman Hodges, age 76, of Erwin, died Friday evening February 22, 2013 at Dunn Health and Rehab.

Robert was born May 16, 1935 in Harnett County, the son of the late Lorman T. and Flonnie Mae Godwin Hodges.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and worked at Carolina Telephone for 19 years before going into business for himself operating Dunn-Erwin Phone Center.

Robert was one of the founders of the Dunn Rescue Squad. He was a member Grace Chapel Church where he served as a deacon and was involved in the music of the church.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday February 26, 2013 at Grace Chapel Church with the Rev. Randy Barker and Rev. Earl West officiating. Burial will follow at Erwin Memorial Park.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Terry Page and a sister, Anita Bell.

Wife: Alease Strickland Hodges

Daughters: Cindy J. Brown and husband Wayne of Benson, Becky H. Hamilton and husband Ron of Lake Worth, Fl., Connie McLeod and husband Rayford of Erwin.

Son: R.L. Hodges of Erwin.

Grandchildren: Scott Jernigan, Jared Hodges, Brooke McLeod, Tanya McLeod-Stanley, Derek and Corey Hamilton, Ashley Page Sherman, Ashley McLamb and husband Joseph, Shane Page and wife Nina.

Great-grandchildren: Shaleigh Stanley and Kolton, Kaiden and Kaleb Sherman.

Sisters: Betty Hood and husband Ed of Garner
Shirley Braun of Myrtle Beach

Brother: Gene Hodges and wife Linda of Dunn.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Monday February 25,2013 at Cromartie-Miller and Lee Funeral Home in Dunn.
