Mr. Roy William Butler, 94 of Calvert City, Kentucky died on Sunday, January 20, 2013, at 9:40 p.m. at the Marshall Co. Hospital in Benton, Kentucky. He was of the baptist faith. Mr. Butler worked for the National Vinegar Company in Alton, IL for 35 years where he retired as a plant supervisor.
Born Saturday, April 27, 1918 in Calloway Co., Kentucky, he was the son of the late John William Butler and the late Linnie (Crick) Butler. He was the husband of Mildred Butler of Calvert City, KY.
Surviving are two daughters, Anita Fogg, husband James of Calvert City, KY and Carolyn Gray, husband Jerry of Benton, KY, sister, Gracie Phillips of Bethalto, IL; 5 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Norma (Yates) Helmes, brothers, Harmon Butler, Carmon Butler, Floyd A. Butler, Troy M. Butler and John O. Butler, sisters, Mavis Butler, Nora Lee Butler and Claraene Butler.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, Kentucky with the Rev. Dr. Charles Frazier officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Marshall Co. Memory Gardens, Benton, KY.
Friends may visit with the family between the hours of 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, Kentucky.
