Wayman "Dan" Daniels,
80, of Dallas, Texas, made his transition from this life to the next on Monday, February 11, 2013. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, from 1:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. The funeral service will take place at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 16, at Laurel Land. Pastor James P. Thompson Jr. of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas will officiate.
Mr. Daniels was born September 29, 1932 in Oakwood, Texas to Dave and Mattie Daniels. Upon high school graduation, Daniels served his country in the United States Army. Daniels later moved to Dallas, Texas where he met and married Billie Rose Shields before moving to Denver to raise three children. Daniels retired as a supervisor from the United States Postal Service after 32 years. Daniels was a huge Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys fan, an avid golfer and bowler and a member of the American Legion. He spent most of his weekends on the golf course and also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Wayman is survived by his three children, Gary Daniels and his wife Sandra of Arlington, Texas; Steven Daniels and his wife Shawanna of Lancaster, Texas; and daughter Sandra Daniels- Umoru and husband Douglas of DeSoto, Texas. He also leaves 10 grandchildren: Brieanna and Brittany Daniels, Steven Jr, Sharjaun and Savion Daniels; Douglas Jr, Cyronica and Kendrick Lackey and Bradley and Bryan Umoru; great grandchildren Kaden Lackey and Douglas Umoru III, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
