WILMA LUCILLE JANES

Mrs. Wilma Lucille Short Janes, age 87, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, February 2, 2013. She was born January 8, 1926 in Fagus, Missouri. She was a faithful member of Highland Drive Church of Christ where she attended for many years. She retired from Carter Carburetor in St. Louis, Missouri after 32 years. She was devoted to the Lord and was a Proverbs 31 woman who cherished her family. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her grandchildren whom she called her "Pride and Joy". She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Her positive Godly influence will live on in those she loved for generations. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dora Mae Ford; her beloved
husband of 55 years, Mr. Willie Janes; and three aunts and one uncle.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith Ann Janes Alphin of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, 4 grandchildren and their spouses, Darlene and Larry Degrant, Ron and Kristine Alphin, Sheila Tripp and Jennifer and Ron Pinkston; thirteen great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Irby Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Graveside services and Interment will follow at 12:00 pm from
New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas with Bro. Mark North officiating.
