On Wednesday morning, February 27, 2013, Wilma Sasser Casey, 88, of Sleepy Creek, moved to her Heavenly home. Wilma was a godly woman who loved the Lord and her family and set an example for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will lead them all their lives.

Wilma was born in Wayne County on February 24, 1925 to the late John A. Sasser and Minnie Neal Sasser. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Miles Junius Casey. Wilma was a longtime member of Westwood United Methodist Church in Goldsboro. She was devoted to her church and was involved in many activities where she utilized her gifts and abilities to share the love of God. Wilma was employed for over 41 ½ years at Branch Bank and Trust Company. She was a beautiful person whose loving spirit and ever present smile radiated the joy she experienced in living every day of her life. Above all, Wilma loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her precious grandchildren. She will be missed.

A service celebrating Wilma's life will be held Friday, March 1, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Rose, Rev. Doug Bartlett and Rev. Rufus Butner officiating. Interment will be Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.

Wilma is survived by her daughter, Pamela C. Barrow and husband Sammy of Sleepy Creek; son, Rudy Casey and wife Wilma of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Ryan Casey and wife Heather, Jessica B. Burnham and husband Jason, Todd Casey and wife Kelly, and Sommer B. Carraway and husband Daniel; and great-grandchildren, Isabelle Casey, Bennett Casey, Aiden Casey, Mason Casey, Saylor Carraway and Riley Burnham. She was preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

We would like to give a very special thank you to the wonderful staff at Willow Creek Nursing Home for the love and care they provided for Wilma during the past few weeks. Simple words cannot express our gratitude.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 1, 2013 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. and immediately following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home.
